Sometimes the best climate action is to reach out and talk to someone. Because talking sparks bigger conversations. Ideas. Inspiration. Solutions. Community. And so much more. In our first episode of 5Talks, we hear how a passion for the pistes turned this pro skier into an environmental champion.

Hailing from a Utah mountain town, Sierra Quitiquit could ski soon after learning how to walk. By the age of 23 she’d gone pro.

But, after years spent racing down her beloved snow-capped peaks, these days she finds herself in a different race: the race to protect them. And our natural environment at large.

“Spending this much time outside was a real privilege. I learned a lot from nature and how to live in her rhythm. I remember first hearing about global temperature rising when I was a kid and I knew it was real because I could see it,” she says.

She shares her story here.

Sierra Quitiquit is the founder of Time for Better, an organization on a mission to catalyze positive change for people and planet. She is the driving force behind Hope House, a space for optimism and action, during the two recent COP climate conferences.
