In the past year we have published some truly stunning photos. Photos you can keep coming back to. Imagine5’s visual director Shaivalini Kumar shares her favorites here.
The garden
By Siân Davey
“What I absolutely love about this photo is how it captures the deep bond between people and nature. It’s not just a beautiful shot of a garden but it tells a story of connection and raw emotion. You can feel how this space brings people together and lets them be their true selves. It’s a beautiful reminder of how important it is to create spaces filled with nature, where we can feel at peace and part of something bigger.”

Aurora
By Boe Marion
“We worked with the talented Boe Marion to capture singer-songwriter Aurora in her truest and most authentic form. He did an incredible job of conveying her fierce yet calming essence. Using analogue photography, he managed to show her intimate bond with the natural world. This photo in particular was my favorite from the series as it evokes a deep emotional response… as if it’s inviting me to see and think about the world differently.”

Montana
By Rebecca Stumpf
“This image captures a Montana farming family’s dedication, beautifully showcasing their switch to sustainable farming practices. I especially love the bond between the father and daughter and it truly emphasizes that this is a family business. To me this photo also tells a heartfelt story of renewal and inspires a deep appreciation for their journey toward ecological balance.”

Ornithographies
By Xavi Bou
“When I first saw this series, I was captivated and a little unsure of what I was looking at. When I discovered that these were the flight patterns of birds captured frame by frame, I was completely awestruck. It feels almost like a painting or a stunning artistic simulation… a masterpiece. I’m in love with the serenity, beauty and technical brilliance of Xavi Bou’s photography.”

David Zilber
By Letizia Cigliutti
“This portrait of chef and former Noma fermenter David Zilber taken by Letizia Cigliutti somehow reminds me of his creativity and love for experimentation. The picture itself is layered, textured, and so experimental – while also capturing his calm demeanour. The images capture both the science and art behind his work, making it feel alive and inspiring.”

Ocean photographer of the year
By Julien Anton
“This close-up of a nurse shark’s eye is so striking and shows something most of us never get to see. The details and textures of the shark itself make it look almost unreal, as if it’s from another world. The open eye feels like it’s watching us, reminding us to take care of our oceans and protect them.”

Humans need the oceans
By Giacomo d’Orlando
“This image from Giacomo d’Orlando’s photo series really stood out to me. The series documents people working to protect the oceans, and what I love about this particular photo is how the brothers Marley and Chae are portrayed alongside the ocean, highlighting their own symbiotic relationship with it. Their calm, fluid body language reflects the ocean’s serenity and their gratitude for its beauty and all that it gives back to them.”

Flirty spiders
By Maria Fernanda Cardoso
“These stunning tiny Australian male spiders look like a work of art. Their vibrant colors and patterns are simply mesmerizing and the sharp focus captures the intricate beauty of these creatures, often overlooked. The contrast between the spiders’ delicate forms and their bold, commanding presence in the frame creates a striking visual narrative, making them feel life-sized even though they are almost microscopic!”

Award-winning chef Sophia Roe
By Justin von Oldershausen
“Sophia Roe is truly a force of nature. From the recent series we shot with her, this photo stands out to me the most. The only props are real vegetables, which, according to Sophia, are the true stars of the show. The image captures a sense of connection, reflecting her passion for using food as a medium to spark conversations and bring people together.”
