We’re looking for a temporary Visual editor in Copenhagen

Imagine5 is looking for a temporary Visual Editor with a sharp narrative sense and a strong aesthetic eye to help shape a new kind of environmental storytelling.
This is a three-month position covering parental leave, from mid-August to mid-November 2025 located in our Copenhagen office. As our current Visual Editor takes time off to be with his family, we’re looking for someone who can step in with creativity, care, and a passion for visual storytelling with purpose.

Imagine5 is an environmental storytelling platform that publishes stories at the intersection of culture and climate, inspiring green living through compelling narratives, striking visuals, and a hopeful, solutions-focused perspective.
We have offices in Copenhagen, Amsterdam, and San Francisco, with a diverse team of 18 spread across these locations. Our work culture is informal and entrepreneurial, built on a flat organisational structure and a test-and-learn mindset aimed at making the greatest possible impact.
About the role
As our Visual Editor, you’ll play a central role in how we tell our stories—curating and creating visual content that informs, connects, and motivates people to act for the planet. You will have the role of layouting our website articles, assisting in maintaining and developing the visual identity of Imagine5 and making sure our visual style comes through in articles, images, video, animation etc. In this role you will be expected to work 3-5 days per week (ideally full time) from our office in Copenhagen. You will work closely with our Visual Director, the editorial team and design agency, reporting to our Director of Storytelling.
Responsibilities
- Laying out articles for our website in WordPress.
- Sourcing images to be used in our articles.
- Creating posts for social media.
- Supporting the creation of various assets for our marketing department.
- Assist in the development of our visual identity and in securing the implementation of it.
What we are looking for is someone…
- With a strong visual eye and attention to detail.
- Who cares about storytelling and ideally is used to working editorially.
- With a solid understanding of visual storytelling and the role visuals play in conveying a story.
- With experience with the latest trends in social media – who knows what types of visual content engage people.
- Who is passionate about inspiring people to live a more planet-friendly lifestyle.
- Who can execute both design and layout.
Technical requirements
You must be able to work WordPress and Figma.
Ideally you are able to work in Photoshop, Indesign, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, and After Effects as well.
We offer an interesting temporary position in a diverse and creative team with flexible work conditions (we typically work three days at the office and two days remote). Lunch is provided on office days. Since our team spans time zones between Europe and California so occasional off-hours meetings may be required.
