We are seeking a bold, dynamic and energetic video journalist who can develop online content and direct creative short-docs that speaks to and activates our audience.
As our US Video Journalist you will be responsible for all our US video content. You will develop strong social-first video content that engages our community and focus on sparking behavioral change. A passion for developing innovative and creative ideas, a sense of what moves people and a journalistic approach is essential in this position.

We are on an important mission but we don’t take ourselves too seriously. The team of 18 members is diverse and spread out over our offices in Amsterdam, Copenhagen and San Francisco. Our work culture is informal and entrepreneurial, the organization is flat and we believe in a test and learn approach to realize our end goal of having a positive impact on people and the planet.
About the role:
As the US Video Journalist, you will play a crucial role in producing high-quality social video content for our multimedia platforms. You will be responsible for researching, shooting, editing, and delivering engaging video stories.
The ideal candidate is a creative storyteller with a strong passion for climate solutions, sustainability, culture and lifestyle, and possesses exceptional video production and editing skills.
- Research, pitch, and produce compelling video stories that align with the company’s editorial guidelines and standards.
- Collaborate with the editorial team to generate innovative ideas and strategies for video content development and distribution.
- Capture high-quality video footage using professional cameras and equipment in various locations and environments.
- Edit video content to ensure a seamless, engaging, and visually appealing narrative that resonates with the target audience.
- Stay updated with best practices and the latest video production techniques, storytelling trends, and digital media advancements to enhance the quality and impact of video content.
- Ensure accuracy, objectivity, and ethical standards in all video content produced.
- Build and maintain relationships with relevant stakeholders, including freelancers, interviewees, and other professionals in the field.
- Proven experience in video production, including shooting and editing, preferably in a journalistic or media setting.
- Proficiency in using professional video editing software: Adobe Premier Pro, Adobe After Effects, Da Vinci Resolve.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment.
- Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines without compromising quality.
- A strong portfolio showcasing previous video projects and journalistic work.
- Familiarity with social media platforms and their role in video content distribution and engagement.
- Knowledge of multimedia storytelling techniques, including data visualization, motion graphics, and interactive video elements.
- Knowledge of sustainability and climate solutions
- San Francisco (hybrid 3 days a week in our SF office). The role requires some domestic and international travel.
